Symmetry - are we living or are we dying?

Symmetry from Everynone on Vimeo.

I discovered this amazing video on Vimeo recently. It is amazing, the ties they draw between so many things are so true. Its fantastic really. The ending is amazing too. And it makes one think; are we living or are we slowly dying? The minute we hit the earth from our mother's womb we enter the rat race; not knowing when it will end and where the finish line will be. This past weekend has sadly being one filled with tragedy and death, not news we like receiving. and i say again, it makes one think the interesting thought of, "are we slowly dying or living?". Is living a state of mind and dying a physical state our bodies are moving through till we meet the end at whichever time or place. Obviously we are alive, we are breathing and thinking yet as we grow up, our bodies grow down, our minds gain knowledge yet slowly lose ground; we grow taller and stronger yet now we recover slower.

Life is a constant paradox. You gain some, you lose some; you build some, you break some; you learn some, you forget some, ad infinitum. this video captures it well though. how differences are really so alike.

Jonsi and his wonder power

Last year during my monthly ritual of downloading the months Indie/Rock playlist i came across Jonsi. http://jonsi.com/ He is an Icelandic artist who is originally part of a band called Sigur Ros. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice which he aptly uses in many of his songs.  Interesting fact: He is blind in his right eye.

He released his first solo album in April 2010 and then followed that with a world tour. The top songs in the album being Go Do and Animal Arithmetic. The songs are a wonderful melodic concoction of English and Icelandic and the beats won't fail to carry you away in excitement and happiness.

New Music. Oh the deliciousness of it.

I love it when you discover new undercover bands/people and they have delightful music that makes you smile at the fact that you found them and now they are yours. That's the thing with Indie music. The undercoverness of it all is so fantastic and makes you love the strange named bands with the even more peculiarly named songs even more. Today i discovered a mass of fantastic new artists. Check them out!
